Permanent Cosmetics FAQ

What is Permanent Cosmetics?

Permanent Cosmetics result when pigment is intradermally implanted into your dermis. Also known as micropigmentation, this is a form of tattooing that has been around for thousands of years. I offer permanent cosmetic procedures including eyeliner (top and bottom), eyelash enhancement (pigment placed between the eyelashes to give the illusion of thicker eyelashes), eyebrow shaping and fill-in with 3-dimentional hair stroke pigmentation, eyebrow scar camouflage, and lip liner with full lip color.

How long does it last?

With an excellent skincare regimen and very little sun exposure, you can expect your permanent cosmetics to last anywhere from 5-10 years. Some people, however, require a touchup after 3 years.

Who is best suited for permanent cosmetic procedures?

  • Individuals who haven't much time to apply makeup
  • Active people who participate in sports often, go to the pool or lake, or anything else that may interfere with makeup application
  • Individuals with shaky hands or poor vision
  • Individuals who are losing their natural color and looking washed-out and pale
  • Individuals with thinning eyebrows and want to regain definition and color, or have a scar to camouflage
  • ANYONE WHO WANTS LONG-LASTING ENHANCEMENT OF THEIR NATURAL BEAUTY

How much does it cost?

All of below prices include 2 treatments: The initial treatment with a 6 week follow-up treatment to ensure client satisfaction, and proper pigment placement and retention.

Complete Eyebrows $300.00 Eyebrow Camouflage $200.00
Eyelash Enhancement $300.00 Full Eyeliner $400.00
Lipliner $200.00 Lipliner and Full Color $500.00

Purchase any 2 treatments and receive a 10% discount. Half down is required on the first treatment; the second half due at the follow-up treatment. Check payments must be made one week in advanced of any scheduled procedure.

What technique do you use?

I use a rotary pen that encases a needle sized for the type of procedure you have chosen. This tattooing device is electrically charged so that the needle pumps up and down at a very high rate of speed, much like a sewing needle. Pigment is pumped into the needle and then implanted into your dermis. This technique ensures practically no bruising or swelling of the applied area.

Does Permanent Makeup Hurt?

I use a cocktail of topical anesthetics. These topical anesthetics allow a virtually painless application of cosmetics, and, at most, you should feel only mild discomfort. In addition, my medical director can phone in oral medications to ensure that you have even less discomfort, and feel free from anxiety. A dental nerve block is also available to anyone who is having a lip procedure; however, I have found that the topical anesthetics alone are sufficient.

What is the downtime for each procedure?

Eyebrows have relatively no downtime at all. You can go back to work immediately after an eyebrow procedure. You should have only minimal swelling of your eyelids and should be able to be back to work within the next day or two with any eye procedure. Lips can be the most challenging, and everyone differs as to their downtime. Some people have relatively no discomfort except for the peeling, and others have discomfort for about a week. With a lip procedure you can expect some swelling at first, following by ongoing peeling for about 3 weeks.

All permanent cosments will appear very vivid immediately after application. The true color will not "surface" until the 6-week healing period is over, and you are ready for your second follow-up treatment.

Where do you perform your procedures?

I have a strict regard to follow all proper protocol, disinfecting techniques, and sanitary guidelines to ensure you (as well as myself) a safe and clean environment as regulated by the Oklahoma Department of Health and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Association).

What kinds of pigments do you use?

I use only quality Premier pigments that ensure that your permanent cosmetics will not turn colors. I also utilize my knowledge of color theory to correct "blue" eyebrows or "purple" lips that are commonly found with inferior pigments containing too much iron oxide.
